Most students must have a bachelor's degree in either biology, psychology, sociology, liberal arts, or health science. Most master's degree programs require that the student participates in a volunteer internship. The student must get a master's or doctoral degree and then, must pass the NBCOT Exam. Once passing the exam, one is qualified for a state license. While most colleges offer bachelor's degrees in biology, psychology, sociology, liberal arts, or health science, the only college in South Carolina that offers a master's degree in occupational therapy is MUSC.
